Where I used to be

And the tears were flowing from empty cups

where hearts were bundled in tombs,

Eyes were filled with scorching rumors

the death that was clung from the womb.

To look upon and see behind

the ease that curdled the prime,

all the chatter of they, them, and mine

splashing and drown in the depth of no rhyme.

I’m spilling over these steps of mine

a shuffle that leads no define

movements in adagio

to the subtle closing of time.
