• or Anguish. 11×14 archival page and inks, always freehand. The fourth piece in an unfolding series.

This one touches on depression, something I understand very well. Everything could be going smoothly and then it all bottle necks or locks up and crushes you. I have lost two friends to depression, one in high school and one later in the years. Both were great guys one was a jock the other an intellect with a wonderful family. Depression is not biased and it can hit at any time
I met someone at a party one time, a friend of my brothers, it was a brief meeting, and he seemed like a really good guy, friendly and outgoing. A week later my brother told me the next day that fellow had taken his life.
Please, if you are suffering with depression, whether it be finances, relationship, or clinical. I ask you to seek help and speak with someone who can guide you through. In those moments you don’t realize how many people you have touched and how many people love you. You can speak to a friend or family member, or you can call this number and speak with someone who will listen and help you find the right help you may need.

  • Have you ever trodden across the plains,

or melted within the river flow,

perhaps you reached above the trees,

maybe flew along the mountain peaks.

    –

    To reach the highest views,

or descend into the depths of sea,

    fly upon the moving waters,

    with a movement forever free.

    –

Hearts racing along the Equestrian kind,

    seeking hollows within the crags,

hanging ten with ease among the waters,

gliding without effort beside the great Aves.

    –

If you are caught up in the web of self,

then you deny yourself this giving,

your ego eats you alive with grieving,

lost within the past and greed,

instead of the passions of living.

    –

    –

  • Layers of Panes.

Sometimes the door is a jar

and other times the windows are breezy,

but over all, time and time again,

    the clock upon the wall,

is just a memory of by gone days.

    –

Sometimes a day is a minute,

    other times it seems forever,

each moment adding to the age,

    winding down the moments,

    writings upon a musky page.

    –

    Perhaps at some point

I will climb the highest peek,

    and look above the faces

    all ticking for their cliques,

    all pacing for their races.

    –

    Maybe, just maybe,

I can seek that endless out,

and find my way back home,

where trails lead to some places,

    and footprints leave no traces.

    –

    –

  • The setting Sun.

Clouds move in a variety of ways

    winds push across the face

leaves that fall at the thundering

waves that caress upon the shore.

    –

Are these not the delicacies of life?

    –

    Stars align with open skies

    storms progress into fields

birds take flight upon the seasons

    mountains look down upon feet.

    –

Are these not the glory of living?

    –

    Eyes roam across the horizon

    hands caress with tenderness

    hearts move on waves

    feet dance with songs.
